Dear Friend of Poco,

We are thrilled to announce a big piece of news and a couple of smaller changes.

--- Patio seating now open!!
We are so happy to share the new patio with you! It looks great already (photo here), and will look better and better as the plantings fill in a bit more. Since it opened a few nights ago, the patio is already a new favorite spot. We love looking out thru the windows at the plantings and people and furniture almost as much as we love sitting outside ourselves. We think you'll enjoy it as much as we do. For those cool Seattle evenings, we've got a stash of comfy blankets to help keep your warm and cozy.

We worked very closely with the Braeburn developer and the Braeburn condominium association to create the seating area as part of a larger project to beautify the Braeburn courtyard. It was a great example of community working together to improve the neighborhood. People are smiling a lot as they walk by, and that makes us happy.

--- Summer hours: opening 4pm weekends
To make the best use of the new patio area, we've decided to open Poco early each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Depending on how it goes, we may decide to open even earlier. So if you find yourself free in the afternoon (or need a break from job hunting!), come on by and enjoy the best outside seats in the neighborhood!

--- Menu and kitchen improvements
Earlier this year we changed the Poco menu to emphasize small bites. We heard from a lot of you that this was not your favorite thing. We soon realized that we felt the same way. So we've returned to more traditional portion sizes. It's less confusing and more satisfying for everybody. We've also introduced some new dishes and brought back a few favorites, including the chilled gazpacho with seared scallop and the delicious roasted halibut en papillote.

A few weeks ago we finished some major improvements to the Poco kitchen. Our hard-working kitchen staff now have a lot fewer constraints, especially during busy times. Look for continuing menu changes as the seasons progress. As always, if you have suggestions, let us know!

Poco is being recognized increasingly as one of the best bars in the city, and we're doing out best to bring out the best in Poco. As always, we deeply appreciate your love for our little wine bar, and keep the suggestions coming!

Cheers,
Peter Moore and Bart Reynolds
