Dear Friend of Poco, Poco has two fun events coming up this coming week on August 11th and 12th. Poco House Wine Party – Wed Aug 11th Ryan Chesla Art Opening – Thu Aug 12th Read below for details. Poco House Wine Party Wednesday August 11th 5–8pm Join us in celebrating the release of our own Poco labeled house wines! That's right, Poco now has it's own snazzy Rick-designed label for two fabulous wines created for us by Mark Wysling of Parejas Cellars. Mark will be at Poco Wednesday to join the celebration. We love these wines, and they're great price performers. The 2009 Pinot Gris is our new official house white and it's super dry and refreshing. This lightly efferescent thrist quencher is wonderful! The house red is a lovely blend of the Spanish varietals Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Mourvedre. The grapes for these wines are all grown in Washington's Yakima Valley appellation. On Wednesday, our house wines will be available at the splendid happy hour price of $5 until 8pm, and again from 10pm–midnight! Ryan Chesla Art Opening Thursday August 12th 6–9pm (Blitz Art Walk night) Thursday night at Poco is the opening for the photography of artist Ryan Chesla. This exhibit features Ryan's vision of Pura Vida (Pure Life) and Pura Realidad (pure Reality) as he captured it on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Ryan presents, through his photography, the rich beauty associated with the rainforests of Costa Rica, and the ordinary activities of everyday life. He captures the contrast between the brilliance of nature and the stark reality of life so prevalent in this region of the world. Additionally, during this exhibit, Ryan also introduces a sample of his latest project, Shades of the Northwest, which illustrates nature’s rich colors, as they appear framed against the backdrop of humankind’s creations. That's all for now. See you soon, and enjoy your SeaFair weekend! Cheers, Peter Moore & Bart Reynolds
